If you've never been to the official board then prolly you dont know what i'm talking about! There are loads of cool ppl on the board, from south east asia to france and lots of interesting places!
The coolest thing is that we can interact right away with DMH and Tav the manager. All questions about DMH/Ash will be answered right away. Sometimes you can even request what song to play on their next gig, and Ash once really did that.
You'll be the first to hear the latest news from Tav. And you'll never regret meeting up with people like...Jed Shepherd, Brad Murdock,(seen the T-shirt?!), ManicApollo, hotter_than_fire, St. Nick,, G-funk, Driv00, Trailer, Pippa, Spaffmonkey, Kungfu Sophie, RedSal, Matt-o-Tom,SweetGamine, Kim_t, Sam R, Everslarlett,Snow White, littlebabynothing,banana, PizzaPie, Katie, JediSteve,Matt-o-Mac...i can't put up 2000+ names here! =D Ohh..and of course, *ehm*, Kerouac..

Sure we've been through shitloads of the 'attack' of Westshite and Hearsay lovers, and even some bad Musers, but hey, there are 2000 of us there!

Even in a few Ash gigs, we do some meetups to get each other better. And once we held an AshFest, finally for the Ashers to meet each other face-to-face, in London, I guess. Yeah we're damned proud of it, Tim once mentioned it and it was mentioned in Radio One too! =D And in an interview when DMH was asked, what was the best part of the site, he'd answered "the messageboard." which is a pride to us..
And yes, we like to slag off each other sometimes, and there are lots of sharp-tongued ppl there, so if you're an easily offended person, be prepared.

Here are some comments I've got from the boardies themselves, in their own words..be prepared...

#1 Jed Shepherd : My feelings about the board? mixed really. on one hand you have the people who come on from time to time to post ash related information or questions, they are the nice people...on the other hand you have the hardcore anti-everything people who's only aim is to destroy the harmony and the bridges that have been built. I count myself as one of the people who has contributed most to the board...not only in volume of posts, but also in quality. Course i have had my bad times...my cheesy, mumbling, going nowhere posts but if you throw enough shit at the fan, some of it is gonna stick. The board is a funny phenomena... It's only a bunch of strangers writing about a band and about each others experiences but it is slightly addicting. Maybe its because I'm a godlike figure there and everyone kisses the ground i walk on, or maybe its just because I get bored real easy, so look for an entertainment fix. I do get alot of abuse on there, but that is more than made up for by the lovely people on there that actually give a damn about me and my ranting. The Fact that a couple of members of Ash, and the manager make posts to their loyal fans from time to time is also a plus point. Never let it be said that Ash dont give back what they get..because they do. I've never heard of a band doing as much for their fans as Ash have done in the past and continue to do now. If they weren't my fave band to begin with they would certainly be now... Ash are made by their fans, for their fans... the board is a way to relay this message. So all in all im giving the messageboard a big Jed thumbs up! nonplane can go fuck a lemon though....

#2 G-funk (Gareth) : I joined the board in about May 2001, i wanted to join before then, but for some reason, my college wouldn't let me, and i didn't have the net at home then either, so it wasn't easy for me to keep up with stuff on it.
And although a lot of ppl who joined at the same time as me have far more posts, i only have about 400-ish, i still get classed as a regular!!
i have met a lot of cool ppl thru it, and there are a few i class as close friends. Hell, one of them even moved into my old bedroom when i was studying in London..after i moved out of course!!!
More recently i havn't posted a lot, and i dont tend to go to the board as much as i did when i first joined it, but i stil have my msn contacts from the board, and i phone and text msg a few of the ppl i met thru it, and the meet-ups are always a good laugh, and i can regularly be found in the chat room. I still cant see how some people manage to go to more than one board/chatroom, i have difficulty keeping up with one, let alone three or four!!

#3 Sam R : It's like a self-contained community. Like a huge family, with all the family-like arguments! i wouldn't swap it for anything else.

#4 ManicApollo: well the board started off cool, and then i joined so it got worse but as i came more and more elite the board became better and i brought to it such phenomenons (with the help of some other people - names arent important) as the ash board pictures and awards. ive also been 50% responsible for the latest cult the comedy snake and for the overusage of the word 'gimp'. due to the fact that there is too much newbie scum the board has become shite.. but wait untill the iron fist of the elite grabs hold of the board once again you need not worry! we'll make your decisions for you so vote correct, vote elite!

#5 matt-o-tom : The board has a good sense of fun and enjoyment its something to do and has helped me over many things in the last 7 months someone to talk to some one not being judgemental the board gets more and more well known the less it may become this but many will make freinds like me and jesse and who could of honestly said that i would we be freinds with a american this time last year no way so this board is good and jesse your has steve buxton would put it rad.

The historic, on-the-board couple, with their undying love and all.. Jesse, voted as Best Overseas Boarder, and Pippa who won the Most Feminine in the Ash Board Award...they "rock", they're "damn sexy", and they're "the best ever" (Mr. Burchett told me to write that :s) Make sure noone stands in his way when he goes to England to meet her next month....:D
